For Illustration Friday: return.  I started by writing a list of phrases that dealt with return/reciprocation last night.  This image just got stuck in my head.

This is my entry for this week's illustration friday- i haven't done one of these in a while. I was going to do something with alligators...but I kept sketching swamp monsters.  So here you have it - my entry for swamp.

New Personal Work

I've been working on some personal pieces, I'm still working out the technique. The two below are from the last couple of weeks.  The octopus was from a couple months ago.  This is supposed to be sketch blog...but  I haven't updated my main site in a couple of years wanted to give these guys a home. I'm revamping my portfolio - so I thought I'd share some of the stepping stones along that path.

Here are yesterday's sketches from the doodlebook. I found some crovex- a discontinued drafting film, I aquired from my college roomate 7 years ago - I really like it as a drawing surface.  I can't think of a more relaxing way to have spent a Saturday.

I've been keeping a small 3.5x5 inch sketchbook around just to jot down ideas and mindlessly sketch.  Here's what I did between February 12th and 17th. I pre-toned a bunch of pages with gouache, and drew in colored pencil later.
